Kelvin takes on 4th GT Masters season with Aust

Kelvin van der Linde is set to replace Pierre Kaffer in the Audi R8 LMS fielded by Aust Motorsport.

Change of drivers at Aust Motorsport. Pierre Kaffer is unable to compete in the ADAC GT Masters as planned due to a clash of dates with commitments in the USA. However, the team from Rietberg in north-west Germany have found a replacement at short notice in South African driver Kelvin van der Linde, who won the title in 2014 alongside René Rast. Van der Linde will now team up with Markus Pommer in one of two Audi R8 LMS in this season’s GT Masters Championship.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Aust Motorsport and the first roll-out for testing at Oschersleben,” says Kelvin, who is also contesting this year’s Australian GT championship with an Audi R8 LMS and has already secured two wins.

Team Principal Frank Aust with an eye to the future: “We still have a lot of work ahead of us in view of the highly competitive nature of the ADAC GT Masters, but I’m certain that we can achieve success with our terrific team. We’re looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead.”

The first race of the season will take place in Oschersleben from 28-30 April.
