Brothers to compete together in Africa 6 hour event @ Phakisa Raceway
Fourteen year old Sheldon van der Linde will make his circuit racing debut this weekend at the African 6-Hour endurance race taking place at Phakisa.
The event will be used as a shakedown prior to the opening round of the Engen VW Cup which gets underway the following weekend at Zwartkops. He will share the Ferodo liveried VW Polo with older brother Kelvin who won the Polo Cup title in 2012 and the European Scirocco R Cup last season.
The racing gets under way at 2:00PM on Saturday, you don’t want to miss it!
“It’s really exciting to be able to share a car with my brother. He is a major talent for the future and it is an honour for me to be directly involved in his circuit racing debut. The 6 hour race will also be a nice way for me to get into the rhythm of driving for long periods of time and dealing with traffic, because the 2014 GT Masters Championship features 4 hour races on a regular basis.” – Kelvin van der Linde
