The Grand Prix track at the Nürburgring was inaugurated in 1984. Since then, it has been the venue for Formula 1, the DTM and its partner series, and the Superbike World Championship. The current circuit is a blend of fast and slow corners, with the best opportunities to overtake being both before and after the start/finishing line. Overtaking is generally difficult, though, so performing well in qualifying sessions is crucial. Fans are in for a real treat here, especially if they have a good view of the Yokohama-S and the Dunlop corner, where the drivers have to slow right down and then often find themselves engaged in thrilling wheel-to-wheel duels.
